Dec 16: 171 Lbs
I comply very well with my zero sugar diet since couple weeks and it has been efficient. I note that I am more craving for proteins now, which is good. The challenge is to go through all the holiday season and beyond without touching sugar and over eating.....
My motivation:

Dec 17: 171 Lbs
Dec 18: 175 Lbs ! I had a big dinner, but even, I did not believe you could gain 4 Lbs (1.8 kg) overnight.... Apparently you can.
Dec 19: 173 Lbs I feel better, and indeed, it looks like bloating

Starting very high. The weight is a disaster (more than 175 Lbs !), but my exercise routine is pretty good. Going to dance classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays night, to Pilates classes on Sundays morning. 
The way I see myself...
As soon as my position change at work, I will have access to the gym for free, with machines and barres. I don't know how I will do that, but I might go for a time of machines/gym, and a time for a barre.

Dec 4: 175 Lbs; Yes, there is no miracle overnight.
But I continue my intense exercises, dance and Pilates, and my coach told me I was in progress...Plus, I really paid attention this week-end and had a very good diet. I know the danger is this coming holiday Season...:(

I see progress in work outs and flexibility now. If I can only get rid of these 34 Lbs.....

I am far away of being the slim dancer....:(
I visited the gym at work today: they have a nice big room with mirrors and barres all around, and they close at 8 pm.  Given that most of people are gone at that time, I might end having the room for my dance practice for myself ! Unfortunately I won't have access (free) until I am a complete employee (January or February 2017)
Nov 2: 171 Lbs. Was easy, I did not eat dinner yesterday night.
Fantastic dance work-out...
Nov 3: 171 Lbs. Big day, but I managed to go to the dance class in the evening and to eat light after....
Nov 4: 172 Lbs. Got a full day of parties, so difficult to navigate that way. I don't know what to do. Well, I played the "bites" game and tested only bites of sweets. It's better than diving, but still not completely complying with the zero sugar program....
Nov 5: 172 Lbs. Pilates class today, with a personal trainer for one hour: going to work on a tailored program to shape my abs....light day for food.

Nov 6: 172 Lbs. Pilates class in the morning
Nov 7: 173 Lbs. big full week, so going to the gym/dance only at the end of the week.
Nov 8-> 20: I was so much turning around and travelling, that I lost track of everything....Will be back

Here I am back. Not proud. This morning 175 Lbs. I really have to make some progress, that's the less I can say. And entering the holiday season is not the best.

October 2016

October has started with the Jewish High Holidays, so I guess the best is to take a little break here....
Meanwhile, going to the gym regularly.
Hopefully everything will be back to routine soon :)


October 15, 2015: I got all my dance clothing. This morning, I was 170 Lbs. It's time to stop the expansion !
Going to gym classes regularly and I particularly love the class with a dancer teacher. So, the plan is: to lose 10 kg, 22 Lbs. Continue going to the dance classes (floor barre).. Just thinking loudly: I must stop sugar again, and concentrate on healthy good and tasty things, such as Asian food that I love (miso and egg drop soups, sushi or Pho for lunch, edamame, soymilk and seaweed for snacks...) Yep, I am now in dance mode....

Almost the end of the month, always totally starving in the evening and craving for carbs. I try to limit but can't. Very loyal to the gym/dance studio, that 's the good point fortunately :)
October 31: 173 Lbs. last weeks have been crazy, I have been eating erratically.  I am starting a zero sugar/healthy protein diet again. I am motivated by my dance classes. On this weight that I gained, there is probably some weight coming from the muscular gain, that could count for one Lbs. But also, some hormonal craziness that I see in others too. Patience....

Sept 17: 169 Lbs. What a remarquable stability !!! But it's time to move down again to the bottom.... Did a long hour walk today to Van Ness and back.
Sept 18: 169 Lbs Today, first class of Pilates. I am all pain, we worked the lower body. My legs hurt !
Sept 19: 168 Lbs. I am so proud of myself !
Sept 20: 169 Lbs  (not quite fixed...) Second class of Pilates tonight with another coach: she is a dancer and I absolutely love it !

169 Lbs. That 's bad. I knew it, but the finding is awful. I gained 6.5 Lbs.
So, back on track, slowly since I have to finish all the bad stuff I still have around (It should be fine soon)

Springsummer ???

It looks like Spring is finally coming ! Long walks in the woods, some little exercise home, more fruits, vegetables, drinks.....

I am still plateauing at 166 Lbs. But I know it's going to change down at one point. My BMI is still over 28...Hang on there, dear :)

May is pretty humid here and long walks in the woods are not going to happen...
Today, Friday May 6, 167 Lbs, it has been 2 months of dieting; I lost 16 Lbs.
Still  BMI in the 28. When I look at myself, of course I feel better and look much better in the mirror. However, still need to lose 20 more Lbs (get down to 146 Lbs to be at BMI= 25).  A long way to go....

New month and end of Passover today.
It's time for a little update:
I lost 4 Lbs only this month, 15 lbs total (not even 2 months, I started on March 6th), but bought 2 new jeans size 6 (American 36, meaning European 38, stretch, so European 40. But still :))
Did a long walk, and feel fantastic !
My BMI has dropped in the 28 ! I am so happy, it's going the good way. I know I have to be at 25, so still 3 points and probably 20 Lbs more to lose. But I find myself very serious.

With the nice weather, I started again to walk, I am so happy !

I walked every day, 3 days in a raw, loop (2 miles, flat) or hike (3 miles, ups and downs)  It has been 2 weeks around 170 Lbs now. It's like if my body is firmly resisting losing more. If I increase my cardio and exercise, I am way more hungry and crave for carbs. I am starving every day in the evenings. I try to limit my diners, but could easily eat three times more ! I did not have sugar (added or sweets) since almost two months now. And very limited carbs and fat (except for these last days, I had some in the evening). I am desperate, I would like so much to continue losing ! my objective is 150 (ultimately 145) and I am still 20 Lbs away from that....:( :(

I feel again on a plateau, I am hungry all the time and fight myself not to over eat. I know it's kinda a new step, to go under 170. But it looks like so difficult again ! I lost tracking of exercising. Mainly because the weather is so nasty ! I would love to go walking, hiking, biking, or even kayaking, but it's definitely for the SUMMER !
Meanwhile, I still need to lose 20 Lbs......
But, I have been good on the sugar, and do not eat sweet, favoring proteins and vegetables....

Again, a week of plateau, without improvement; I know why. Because I was so hungry all week long, specifically in the evenings. I ate a lot more in quantity, but not necessarily badly. I did not have sugar at all. It's quite a stabilization diet kind. 
I know I have to increase my work outs, lighten my diners and focus more on proteins and green salads now. So difficult to lose weight !(sight)

End of March

My body firmly resists to losing more weight.
Despite a very strict and honest protein diet with no sugar at all, I did not lose one pound this week.
I am desperately at the same weight, variations are from 0.8 to 0.2 lb... So, third week of diet: big failure.
I know I have to increase my cardio activity and work outs. However, I have been following my one other day 10 min abs and plank, and a long walk a week. 
I have been going this week through a 24 hours fast, many parties where I have been surprising myself (purim party where I did not taste one Hamantashen, farewell party where I did not have my usual beer and nachos, diner party with only steamed light mini dumplings, going out with no drinks, only sparkling water, Easter party with no chocolate, no desert) that was a LOT of challenges. I succeeded on all of them. And the reward is so disappointing !!!!
I am desperate, really. 10 days at the same weight is way too long and not normal at all considering what I eat (probably around 1200 cal a day, I don't really count). Even if I know it's a plateau, it has been a very long plateau.....
Time to lose again !!!!

New successful week: 
Lost  3 Lbs this week and the week-end is not finished yet. 
And the bigger success is that I eventually went under the "obese" BMI of 30 something to an overweight BMI of 29. I am really happy for that, mostly for my health .

Saturday, March 19: 174 Lbs. My objective is to continue the same pace to the end of the month, given that I will lose less weight now because I am attacking the "old fat". But it is so encouraging and rewarding ! I am very happy with the results.

I slightly dress differently and was able to fit in an old dress I like very much, simple navy blue with navy blue tights and ballerines. I look good in it. I still struggle with the abs and plank. It feels like I am really disable. So far away from the last time I headed to the gym...But, yes, I have to keep on ! Maybe it's just because at my age, the belly wants to be fat and exercising becomes a great challenge....

I am of course, not expecting that speed to the end, but at least, I feel not bloated and much better. I am not hungry, enjoy good meals, don't crave for sugar (as far as I don't see anything I like around)

I am starting a protein diet on Monday March 7.
Started the diet at 183 Lbs on Sunday
First day is always easy...
Monday March 7: 183 Lbs 
Tuesday: 181 Lbs 
Wednesday: 179 Lbs 
Thursday: 178 Lbs
Friday: 178 Lbs

Basically, I eat: 
Breakfast: a glass of fresh lemon in water, a plain yogurt, a coffee.
Morning snack: a fruit (mandarin or strawberries)
Lunch: anything tasty with proteins and greens ( fish+ edamame; big spinach salad + roasted chicken; bagel + cucumber, onions and smoked salmon, artichoke Humous+ crunchy veggies...)
Afternoon snack: a rice cake, crunchy veggies (radish, Kholrabi), a tea or coffee (depending at what time, if I have not eaten bagel of course), small hand of almonds
Dinner: egg drop soup; salad + surimi; miso soup + omelet; scramble eggs+ mushrooms...+ a Tibetan tea.
The two snacks of the day are only if I am hungry. But I haven't been so hungry, so I skip them.
And I drink a lot of lemon water, sparkling, tea.

My exercise program: 3 times a week, 10 min abs or plank+ 1 hour walk once a week. Not drastic, but I need for my belly.....

January 4, 2016: 182 Lbs. Not really changed, despite an erratic holiday season !!
I am not talking about new resolutions: I know I will never do it. But for my health, I would like to lose my belly fat and increase my exercise...
January 5, 2016: 181 Lbs. Little victory :)
January 16, 2016: 181 Lbs. Very constant (and not going down at all)
Came back from vacations in the Middle East; Gained 6 Lbs.
Then got the Flu... and lost 6 Lbs. 
February 14 th, Valentine's day: 181 Lbs.
February 20: 180 Lbs.
I am dreaming of getting back to 179 Lbs !!! It sounds so difficult !
February 21st: Spa World with total body scrub and massage, jaccuzzi, steam sauna...



February 28: 182 Lbs. Everything is just falling apart, I feel like I am going to explode. My belly is just a fat, obese thing, and I am desperate. I gained so much weight, I am not even sure that my scale is right. What should I do ????
